Gait Analysis

When dealing with pain and injury, very often to find the cause it is necessary to look beyond the symptoms themselves. Many physical problems can be the result of poor biomechanics or movement patterns of the feet and lower limbs. Slight irregularities in the feet can have painful and debilitating consequences further up the ‘kinetic chain’ or body.
At Dynamic Chiropractic specialised gait analysis combined with many years of experience in orthotic prescription is used to accurately assess gait and where necessary correct it with the latest in orthotic therapy. A touch sensitive, computerised pressure plate (TOG Gait Scan) combined with visual analysis on a treadmill and various other techniques are used at our clinic.

Gait analysis will often form part of your assessment and treatment and can also be specifically requested when making an appointment

Our prescription orthotics look like insoles, but are biomechanical medical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance.
Orthotics work on your feet much like glasses work on your eyes – they reduce stress and strain on your body by bringing your feet back into proper alignment.
Orthotics fit inside your shoes and when prescribed properly should not only improve function of the body, reduce or eliminate pain, but also enhance your comfort with every step.

Your foot is in contact with the ground for about 0.78 of a second when walking and about 0.25 of a second when running. Imagine trying to determine foot function with the naked eye in this time!
The TOG Gait Scan system uses thousands of sensors on a pressure plate to determine your pressure placement and timing sequences as you move across it.

This enables us to gain extremely accurate and precise data specific to your foot movement and where necessary build you an orthotic far more advanced than most others available.
